Title:               Laugh off Lies

Airdate:           August 4, 2015

Program:          #892

Here’s a good question to ask yourself, “What’s the lie I’m believing right now?”

Hi, I’m Nick Vujicic at Life Without Limbs dot org.

The devil’s a big fat liar … and he’s good at it—judging by the number of believers who get deceived by him. They’re convinced they’re less than God made them to be. The problem isn’t usually with their hearts … most Christians want to please God. The problem is with their thinking. Even the word “repentance” means to “change the way you think.” And Romans chapter 12 calls us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds in Christ.

So how do we identify those lies that are keeping us captive? By bringing them into the light … and laughing at those lies. God is our example. Psalm 2 tells us “The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them!”

Here are some common beliefs … lies … that I’ve learned to laugh away … “God is not going to meet my needs in the future.” … Ha-ha-ha … “You keep messing up and you’re never going to change.” … Ha-Ha-ha… “There is something uniquely wrong with you.” … Ha –ha –ha “This depression feels so true … so it must be true” … Ha-ha-ha.

Do you see how wrong these lies are … they are truly laughable. Because the truth is we are God’s beloved … His precious sons and daughters, and heirs with Christ Jesus! So, keep laughing and remember … “the weapons of your warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds!”
